After many years of working in senior management for several different car franchises, I started Woodland Autos in Newbury, Berkshire in 1991.
With Sue, my wife and business partner, and our staff, we go out of our way to offer the very best in quality pre-owned vehicles with the highest level of customer service and professionalism.
Testament to this is the enviable reputation we have built up in the Thames Valley as demonstrated by the high level of both repeat business and word of mouth referrals we enjoy.
So that we may have total confidence in the cars we offer for sale, we will only retail cars that have a good service and pre ownership record, we welcome independent inspections and can give you proof of HPI checks.
Woodlands Autos are an approved Peugeot Repair Centre, and a main dealer recommended repair centre for Vauxhall, Ford, and Seat.
We specialise in the following vehicle makes:
Audi, BMW, Citroen, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mercedes, Mazda, Mini, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Peugeot, Renault, Saab, Seat, Skoda, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota, Vauxhall, VW, Volvo... to name but a few.

All our vehicles are checked on the HPI (Hire Purchase Information) and National Mileage Register before we take them into stock. This is an industry register to which we subscribe and ensures the vehicle has no outstanding finance, has not been in a major accident, has not been stolen and checks the current mileage against any previous mileage history held on the National Mileage Register.
For your peace of mind and to check the vehicles safety and suitability for the highway, we ensure that every vehicle has a long current MOT before the new owner takes delivery of their new pre-owned vehicle. Every vehicle will be supplied with a brand new MOT (unless it has been issued with a new MOT in the previous 2 months). This will ensure you will be sound in the knowledge that all the safety and engine emission issues meet the very high standards required by an MOT test these days.
As we are not an MOT testing station, we use two preferred local MOT testing stations to perform our MOT tests. Obviously any work deemed necessary to achieve an MOT certificate is carried out before the certificate is issued and the new owner takes ownership of the vehicle. All costs involved in the MOT testing procedure are absorbed by ourselves irrespective of the cost.
Each vehicle offered for sale has the benefit of a 3 month parts and labour warranty included in the price, and we are able to offer a choice of 1, 2 and 3 year warranties with different claims limits and levels of cover which can be tailor made to suit your own specific requirements and vehicle. We are also able to offer excellent preferential rates for RAC Home Start and Roadside assistance cover.
It should be noted that most vehicles under 3 years old benefit from the remainder of the Manufacturer's Warranty up to their third birthday (with or without mileage stipulations) which is transferable to new owners.
You may part exchange any vehicle, in any condition, and of any value. We will take cars without an MOT of scrap value; as long as you can get it to us, or take a car of greater value than the car you are buying and refund you the difference. I would even consider taking a boat, motorcycle or caravan in part exchange. Any part exchange price would be made after inspecting and driving (where applicable) the part exchange vehicle.
When bringing your part exchange vehicle along to us to achieve a valuation, please bring along as much information as possible. This should include the registration document, the service book and/or any supporting receipts (if applicable) and the MOT certificate. This will allow us to offer the very best price at the time and speed the whole process along.
As the holders of a Consumer Credit License we are able to offer you debt adjusting counseling, and are more than happy to take a vehicle in part exchange on which you have an existing loan outstanding.
Depending on the part exchange vehicles value in relation to its outstanding loan, we are still able to take it in part exchange against a vehicle of greater or lesser value. This will obviously depend upon the balance outstanding in relation to the vehicles value, the cost of the new vehicle and how any balance needs to be funded. It is always worth phoning the finance company to obtain a settlement value before looking for a new vehicle, as this accurate information is essential to us in working out any new figures for you.
Every vehicle has a comprehensive multi point check before it is offered for sale. We personally check all the vehicles controls to ensure they are working correctly. For example, the door locks, windows, key fobs, radio/cd, wipers, lights, cruise control etc, a road test is undertaken to check the vehicles performance and operation of clutch, brakes, suspension and engine and all the external and internal controls are thoroughly checked for their correct performance. All fluid levels are checked and corrected where necessary and if a vehicle is due a service as defined by the service history or vehicle computer, it will be carried out before the customer takes delivery.
A car is one of the most expensive purchases we ever make and it is really important to me that when you come to look at a vehicle you are interested in buying, we take you for a comprehensive demonstration drive. This ensures the vehicle lives up to your expectations and is suitable for you, just as you would try on new clothes before purchasing.
The route we take involves driving along urban, country and major roads, and allows you to experience the vehicle in most driving conditions. The whole route is about 8 miles and you will have the opportunity to drive and enjoy the benefits if you desire.
We accept all major credit and debit cards (not American Express), although a small charge will be made for credit cards over £500 and can take deposits over the phone. You may pay by Bank or Building Society draft, On Line Banking Transfer, Personal Cheque (allow 5 working days to clear) or Cash by prior arrangement (which must be taken during business hours and not exceed the amount specified under the prevailing money laundering legislation).
We are able to arrange finance immediately on-line through one of our preferred finance companies, subject to your status. We simply require some basic personal information to apply, and the answer is given immediately. Once the finance is accepted we can make arrangements for you to collect the vehicle.
Depending on your status and the age of the car our rates start at just 4% flat or 7.7% typical APR. Remember, whilst you need to put down a minimum deposit, which is usually 10%, you can always elect to put down more if you want to. The deposit can be made up with either cash (or debit/credit card), a part exchange or a combination of the two.
If you feel that because of your previous credit history it might be difficult to obtain finance, we have access to a number of lenders who will look favourably to your needs. This will usually involve showing affordability by sight of bank statements, payslips, and any evidence they deem necessary. However, we pride ourselves in the good success rate in obtaining finance under such circumstances.
